About This Site
If you’ve been to a few web hosting review sites, you’ve probably noticed they tend to fall into two distinct categories. First, you have the “cloned” review sites. These basically all have the same format, and list their opinion of the Top Ten Web Hosts in several pre-set categories. Unfortunately, most of these sites list the same 15-20 big name sites in all of the categories, but just pick 10 of them and re-arrange them a bit. They also throw in a few or more “canned” articles, that have been edited slightly, or simply pulled from an article site. Most of their recommendations appear to be based more on how much the affiliate programs for the web hosting sites pay, rather than on their features or how well they perform.
There are a few sites that fall into the second category, and have actual, well thought out reviews of a large number of web hosting companies. Some even have comments and reviews from customers of these web hosts, although the majority of the customer reviews seem to be negative. Many of these complaints may be valid, but its a fact of life that unhappy customers look for places to complain a lot more often than happy customers look for places to give praise. Still, the real problem with these sites is that all of the information and reviews can be both overwhelming and confusing. The large variety of web hosting companies and web hosting plans available, combined with all of the special hosting deals that change on a monthly basis, makes comparing a large number of web hosting sites difficult.
This site is different from both of those, and is dedicated to helping you cut through all of the hype and confusion. I’ll compare and review a limited number of premium web hosts in an attempt to pinpoint the best one for you. We’ll also give you some tips on the important things to look for in a web host, so you can make a more informed decision on your own. These reviews are based on personal experience, as well as the information available on each host’s site at the time the review is published, plus third party monitoring of each web host, if available.
Hopefully this will make choosing the best web host much simpler, and make the process of choosing and getting your web hosting much quicker and easier.
